Jumping at several small opportunities may get us there more quickly than waiting for one big one to come along. ~Hugh Allen
When I look back now over my life and call to mind what I might have had simply for taking and did not take, my heart is like to break. ~William Hale White
Opportunity is a bird that never perches. ~Claude McDonald
Opportunity is as scarce as oxygen; men fairly breathe it and do not know it. ~Doc Sane
Opportunities do not come with their values stamped upon them. ~Maltbie Babcock
Nothing is so often irretrievably missed as a daily opportunity. ~Marie von Ebner-Eschenbach
Are you a leader or a follower?
Here are some great motivational and inspirational quotes on leadership – then a cartoon strip to finish off…
An army of a thousand is easy to find, but, ah, how difficult to find a general. Chinese proverb
Leadership is not magnetic personality—that can just as well be a glib tongue. It is not “making friends and influencing people”—that is flattery. Leadership is lifting a person’s vision to higher sights, the raising of a person’s performance to a higher standard, the building of a personality beyond its normal limitations. – Peter Drucker
The most important quality in a leader is that of being acknowledged as such.
– Andre Maurois
Leadership consists not in degrees of technique but in traits of character; it requires moral rather than athletic or intellectual effort, and it imposes on both leader and follower alike the burdens of self-restraint.
– Lewis H. Lapham
A leader is most effective when people barely know he exists. When his work is done, his aim fulfilled, his troops will feel they did it themselves. Lao Tzu
Bounce back from any disaster you’ve encountered and you’ll be a success!
“No matter how far life pushes you down, no matter how much you hurt, you can always bounce back.” ~ Sheryl Swoopes
The test of success is not what you do when you are on top. Success is how high you bounce when you hit bottom. ~ George S. Patton
Winners aren’t quitters! We all encounter road blocks or obstacles in our lives – be it with dieting, work goals, sports goals, personal projects or even life goals. But how we react to these barriers is more important than what the actual barriers are – you’ve got to bounce back, in fact ‘bounce’ over those barriers!
Everything’s not going to go perfect. You’re going to have some losses that you’re going to have to bounce back from and some things that are a little unforeseen that you’re going to have to deal with. ~ Tony Dungy
When commissioning cartoons… Pick TWO of the three options!
Good+Fast = Expensive Choose this and I’ll postpone every other project on my drawing board, my round of golf or give up my footy match ticket and work day and night to get your job done. It WILL NOT BE CHEAP though!
Good+Cheap = Slow Choose good and cheap and I’ll still do a great job at a discounted price. But you’ll have to be patient while I fit you in after my higher paying clients, updating my web site, going down the gym, my footy matches, rounds of golf and liquid lunches!
Fast+Cheap = Inferior Choose this option at your peril. It will still be delivered on time but it will be inferior, as many corners as possible will be cut. You know the saying ‘You get what you pay for!’ The least favorable option in my opinion!
