Today we look at ‘Having a BURNING DESIRE and OBSTACLES that get in the way of your goals’
Here’s a few of my favourite quotes:
Obstacles are those frightful things you see when you take your eyes off your goal. Henry Ford
“A burning desire to be or do something gives us staying power – a reason to get up every morning or to pick ourselves up and start in again after a disappointment”
Marsha Sin
The obstacles you face are… mental barriers which can be broken by adopting a more positive approach. Clarence Blasier
There is one quality that one must possess to win, and that is definiteness of purpose, the knowledge of what one wants and a burning desire to possess it. Napolean Hill
A lot of people give up just before they’re about to make it. You know you never know when that next obstacle is going to be the last one.
Chuck Norris
“A burning desire is the starting point of all achievement, not a hope, not a wish, but a keen pulsating desire which transcends everything.”
Napoleon Hill
“Success is focusing the full power of all you are on what you have a burning desire to achieve.”
Wilfred Peterson
Nothing is an obstacle unless you say it is.
Wally Amos
J Paul Getty said that a man with a burning desire and just an average ability would be a winner every time. His premise was that if a person is willing to do whatever it takes to achieve their goals, then they would eventually achieve them. Are you willing?
I believe Tiger Woods will come through this present situation in his life. The media are having a field day on squeaky clean Tiger – but this will only be a temporary blip in his fantastic career.
Here’s a cartoon I did a while ago for Gail Smirthwaite at GolfGuru.
Notice how it add visual content to the email and makes you want to read on to see what it’s all about!? Did you also notice it was probably the first thing you read when you say it?
Call Richard on 00 44 1246 209034 if you need a cartoon for your next email campaign, your next article, web page or flier. Or email
"Feeling grateful or appreciative of someone or something in your life actually attracts more of the things that you appreciate and value into your life."
You know what they say – what doesn’t kill you makes you mentally stronger.
True. That strength may not come immediately after hardship. Sometimes it shows up awhile after, but I believe in most cases this is true.
Becoming mentally stronger – Sometimes it’s true, sometimes it’s false. Certainly some people are made much weaker from traumatic experiences… the experience doesn’t kill them but they never recover fully. Some people manage to come out the better for it. It really depends on the person and the experience.
I always try and pick out the positives from a bad situation – I become mentally stronger for it!
I can create ‘mentally stronger’ type cartoons or any other cartoons that inspire…call me on 00 44 1246 209034 or email
When commissioning cartoons… Pick TWO of the three options!
Good+Fast = Expensive Choose this and I’ll postpone every other project on my drawing board, my round of golf or give up my footy match ticket and work day and night to get your job done. It WILL NOT BE CHEAP though!
Good+Cheap = Slow Choose good and cheap and I’ll still do a great job at a discounted price. But you’ll have to be patient while I fit you in after my higher paying clients, updating my web site, going down the gym, my footy matches, rounds of golf and liquid lunches!
Fast+Cheap = Inferior Choose this option at your peril. It will still be delivered on time but it will be inferior, as many corners as possible will be cut. You know the saying ‘You get what you pay for!’ The least favorable option in my opinion!
