Time Thieves – Switch The TV off for a bit!

TIME THIEVES – they’re all around us…whether it’s getting distracted while working on your computer and going off and look at some shopping web site…for others it’s our mobile phone/cellphone but the biggest Time Thieve of all is the TV! It’s so easy to flop into the armchair and say I deserve a rest and go through every channel looking for something to occupy your mind. Where as you could be educating yourself or launching your dream product/web site/iPhone app.

Time thieve cartoon, cartoon of thieve taking away the word TIME

I have to admit I’ve succumbed to sitting in front of the TV at the end of the day – and only just realised what a load of crap is on there. So from now I’m going to make an effort to get outside – especially now the nights are getting lighter here in the UK.

It was fairly difficult finding some ‘Time Thieves’ quotes but I got a few…

Friends are thieves of time. ~ Francis Bacon

“Procastination is the thief of time.” ~ Joseph Heller

“He was always late on principle, his principle being that punctuality is the thief of time.” ~ Oscar Wilde

Genius, that power which dazzles mortal eyes, Is oft but perseverance in disguise. — Henry Austin

A genius is one who shoots at something no one else can see – and hits it.  ~Author Unknown

Everyone is a genius at least once a year.  The real geniuses simply have their bright ideas closer together.  ~Georg Christoph Lichtenberg

(I was in between ‘genius’ moments when I was doodling this!)

I am convinced all of humanity is born with more gifts than we know.  Most are born geniuses and just get de-geniused rapidly.  ~Buckminster Fuller

Thousands of geniuses live and die undiscovered – either by themselves or by others.  ~Mark Twain

Helping You Smile Your Way To Success – Cartoon No.54

‘Go with your strengths. You’ll become even stronger as a result.’

Motivational pictures - cartoon of guy lifting weights and dog in one hand. Go with your strengths! When you love what you do you will never know the tiresome burden of boredom in your life. This is because you are now operating from a position of strength. Those who do this live above, not under, circumstances. They are free to make decisions for their own life because they like who they are, they know who they are and they believe in who they are. Trust your judgment. Take risks. Spread your wings. Experiment. Venture into unknown territory. Try something different. Eat a flavor of ice-cream you’ve never tasted before. Drive a route that you’ve never driven. Fly a kite. Ride a bike. Go fishing. Do it and feel the difference and feel the enstrengthening power that is flowing through your veins.

LISTEN to many, speak to a few – William Shakespeare quote!

We have two ears and one mouth so that we can listen twice as much as we speak.
I can’t remember who that quote was by – but he was certainly right 110%! Here’s a cartoon of a good listener and some quotes that I found while surfing around…

Listener cartoon - guy with very big ears ready to listen.

Winston Churchill

Listening well is as powerful a means of communication and influence as to talk well.
