Opportunity Knocking and you can’t hear it because you’re too busy putting up barriers!
Here’s my 5 Favourite ‘Opportunity Knocking’ quotes…
“A pessimist sees the difficulty in every opportunity; an optimist sees the opportunity in every difficulty.” ~ Winston Churchill “We often miss opportunity because it’s dressed in overalls and looks like work” ~ Thomas Edison “The Chinese use two brush strokes to write the word ‘crisis.’ One brush stroke stands for danger; the other for opportunity. In a crisis, be aware of the danger–but recognize the opportunity.” ~ John F. Kennedy “If opportunity doesn’t knock, build a door” ~ Milton Berle “I believe that every single event in life happens in an opportunity to choose love over fear.” ~ Oprah Winfrey
Oh, I nearly forgot one more ‘opportunity knocking’ quote…
“Sometimes opportunities float right past your nose. Work hard, apply yourself, and be ready. When an opportunity comes you can grab it.” ~ Julie Andrews Edwards
for Business Owners, Online Marketers, Website Owners, Developers, Bloggers and Graphic Designers
I’m not a lawyer and never will be. However, I can tell you that if you’ve been carelessly using graphics from around the Internet, you may be at risk of copyright infringement. It’s not a great idea to just copy and paste an image you like onto your website or blog! (In fact I had someone use one of my cartoons and then had painstakingly Photoshopped my copyright watermark out of it, not even a great job! They could have purchased the same cartoon for a few dollars.)
Over the years I’ve heard too many horror stories of lawsuits, court judgements and settlements (basically out-of-court “extortion fees”) being charged to website owners for seemingly minor copyright violations on graphics used on their sites..
As a freelance cartoonist and Internet Publisher, I totally understand how important it is to have good graphics for your website or blog.
Unfortunately, it can be difficult to find high-quality graphics that are fully legal, yet don’t cost an arm and a leg for licensing them.
But I warn you, it’s going to be VERY hard to believe how massive this solution is and how super-inexpensive it is to have funny, motivational and inspiring cartoons on your blog or website.
Who’s the best footballer on the planet – it could be you if you believe in yourself. Ok, well you might not become the best on the planet – but if you start believing in yourself you will probably become a much better player than you are now!
My simplest advice to everyone out there; If it hurts, let go. Life is way too short to waste any time at all. You’re only young for so long, and every moment you spend dwelling on the things that only cause you to hurt, is precious time wasted where you could have been out adventuring around, making more memories to look back on. Nobody wants to remember the nights they sat around crying. They look back at the adventures they had while they were young. The good nights, days, whatever. And when you find someone where it feels like the first time every time, don’t let that go. Don’t give up without a fight. To hell with anybody who makes you feel like you’re ordinary. Don’t waste your time. And I’m not kidding, when you find this person, hold tight and do not ever let them go. It rarely happens. And you’ll know it, because its when you feel most alive. Its a pretty shitty world, no jokes. But you can be happy if you want to be. ~ Author Unknown
When commissioning cartoons… Pick TWO of the three options!
Good+Fast = Expensive Choose this and I’ll postpone every other project on my drawing board, my round of golf or give up my footy match ticket and work day and night to get your job done. It WILL NOT BE CHEAP though!
Good+Cheap = Slow Choose good and cheap and I’ll still do a great job at a discounted price. But you’ll have to be patient while I fit you in after my higher paying clients, updating my web site, going down the gym, my footy matches, rounds of golf and liquid lunches!
Fast+Cheap = Inferior Choose this option at your peril. It will still be delivered on time but it will be inferior, as many corners as possible will be cut. You know the saying ‘You get what you pay for!’ The least favorable option in my opinion!
