The above cartoon video was produced with Gary Ryan Blair of The Goals Guy. Gary emailed me the audio file and I listened to this and jotted down ideas, created all the cartoons to suit the script and emailed them back to him. There was some going backwards and forwards before we got all the cartoons right. It was something new for me to work on and was very challenging. A very enjoyable project!
1. Train yourself to notice when you are happy and try to collect five happy moments every single day.
2. Get active – physical activity releases happy chemicals in our brains.
3. Sign up as a volunteer research shows that helping others gives us a sense of wellbeing.
4. Keep in contact with your mates – scientists report that individuals with a good social network are more likely to be positive people.
5. Write a letter of thanks to someone who has helped you or had a great influence on you. This will increase your positive and contented feelings.
6. Eat healthily, drink plenty of water and get sufficient sleep. It’s hard to feel positive if you aren’t treating your body with care and respect.

Golf affirmations help you believe in yourself and your ability…
Here’s a piece I came across that inspired a ‘golf affirmations’ cartoon.(Please excuse me as I have misplaced the site that I got it from – it was a couple of years ago!) For instance, lets say your chip onto the green wasn’t at all what you had hoped for, and instead you have a very difficult long putt to make for par instead. Rather than rueing the bad chip shot which most people do, you instead project forward to the next shot, and mentally repeat some golf affirmations such as “perfect putt, perfect putt, perfect putt…” , over, and over, and over again in your mind while your partner is hitting his shot. So whenever you hit a bad shot or feel a negative pattern developing, interrupt it with a string of positive golf affirmations, repeated over and over again until the negative thought has been vanquished forever. Ensure that you never allow negative thoughts to take a hold of your thinking on the course again The second round the next day I made sure that I was focusing my energy in seeing the golf ball go into the hole. And sure enough, the next day I shot 71. I had 27 putts and missed six other ones. The funny thing about all this is that once I focused my energy on getting the ball in the hole it was amazing how my swing fell into place. Using golf affirmations really helped. I dealt with bad ball striking by focusing my attention on getting the golf ball in the hole, no matter what. I can do this. My golf affirmations included: I can achieve my goals. I am completely in control of my game. I will create positive energy around me. What a round of golf – and I put it down to positive golf affirmations!
What golf affirmations can you think of if repeated enough would help your game?
You can make golf affirmations (And cartoons!) can work for your game!

When commissioning cartoons… Pick TWO of the three options!
Good+Fast = Expensive Choose this and I’ll postpone every other project on my drawing board, my round of golf or give up my footy match ticket and work day and night to get your job done. It WILL NOT BE CHEAP though!
Good+Cheap = Slow Choose good and cheap and I’ll still do a great job at a discounted price. But you’ll have to be patient while I fit you in after my higher paying clients, updating my web site, going down the gym, my footy matches, rounds of golf and liquid lunches!
Fast+Cheap = Inferior Choose this option at your peril. It will still be delivered on time but it will be inferior, as many corners as possible will be cut. You know the saying ‘You get what you pay for!’ The least favorable option in my opinion!
