It’s not what happens to you that determines how far you will go in life; it is how you handle what happens to you. – Zig Ziglar
Destiny is not a matter of chance, it is a matter of choice; it is not a thing to be waited for, it is a thing to be achieved. – William Jennings Bryan
I am always doing things I can’t do, that’s how I get to do them. – Pablo Picasso
Unless a man undertakes more than he possibly can do, he will never do all that he can.” – Henry Drummond
If you care at all, you’ll get some results. If you care enough, you’ll get incredible results. – Jim Rohn
The optimist sees opportunity in every danger; the pessimist sees danger in every opportunity. – Winston Churchill
I meant to do this cartoon last week – but I got sidetracked a number of times and then totally missed last week’s Midweek Motivator. So it just goes to show you have to take action.(Even I get caught out with this procrastination thing!)
Here’s a few ‘procrastination’ quotes to keep you on the right track:
“Do you know what happens when you give a procrastinator a good idea? Nothing!”
Donald Gardner
So what do we do? Anything. Something. So long as we just don’t sit there. If we screw it up, start over. Try something else. If we wait until we’ve satisfied all the uncertainties, it may be too late. Lee Iacocca
“If and When were planted, and Nothing grew.” Proverb
“Procrastination is the fear of success. People procrastinate because they are afraid of the success that they know will result if they move ahead now. Because success is heavy, carries a responsibility with it, it is much easier to procrastinate and live on the “someday I’ll” philosophy.” Denis Waitley
Regardless of what you think – YOU can succeed! You just have to B.E.A.R – believe, expect, act and receive!
I’m going to do more updates on my Facebook page – where you can chip in with your thoughts/comments. Let me know if you missed the ‘Motivators’ over the last few weeks? (I’ve been really busy with cartoon projects.)
Let me know if I should carry on doing them? Let me know what subject matter I should be drawing cartoons on? I want to hear from you!!!
Here’s an email I received from one of my subscribers to my ‘Weekly Motivator’…
Richard as a small business owner who is doing it tough atm…I just have to tell you how much your cartoons mean. It’s amazing what they say about when you are ready for the lesson in life it will show up….again and again till you get it. OK sometimes in the shape of a piece of 4×4 across the back of the head (lol) but this is brilliant. Thanks for making me smile this morning through the stress the day has presented. Cheers Allison
If at first you don’t succeed, do it like your mother told you. ~Author Unknown
In order to succeed you must fail, so that you know what not to do the next time. ~Anthony J. D’Angelo
Some people succeed because they are destined to, but most people succeed because they are determined to. ~Author Unknown
A reader Sandra Ponting from London emailed me to ask if I had any cartoons that would help motivate her go to the gym and slimming classes? Well I had done some slimming cartoons a while back. So dug into my filing cabinet and reworked this old sketch. The idea being she could see the end result if she kept going down to the gym and attended the slimming classes.
Sandra was over the moon with the cartoon and says she’s stuck it to her fridge door, her mirror in her bathroom as reminders and even has a copy in her purse so that every time she looks in it she’s reminded of her fitness plan!
Please send in your problems and I’ll see if I can help with a little cartoon drawing.
When commissioning cartoons… Pick TWO of the three options!
Good+Fast = Expensive Choose this and I’ll postpone every other project on my drawing board, my round of golf or give up my footy match ticket and work day and night to get your job done. It WILL NOT BE CHEAP though!
Good+Cheap = Slow Choose good and cheap and I’ll still do a great job at a discounted price. But you’ll have to be patient while I fit you in after my higher paying clients, updating my web site, going down the gym, my footy matches, rounds of golf and liquid lunches!
Fast+Cheap = Inferior Choose this option at your peril. It will still be delivered on time but it will be inferior, as many corners as possible will be cut. You know the saying ‘You get what you pay for!’ The least favorable option in my opinion!
