TIME THIEVES – they’re all around us…whether it’s getting distracted while working on your computer and going off and look at some shopping web site…for others it’s our mobile phone/cellphone but the biggest Time Thieve of all is the TV! It’s so easy to flop into the armchair and say I deserve a rest and go through every channel looking for something to occupy your mind. Where as you could be educating yourself or launching your dream product/web site/iPhone app.
I have to admit I’ve succumbed to sitting in front of the TV at the end of the day – and only just realised what a load of crap is on there. So from now I’m going to make an effort to get outside – especially now the nights are getting lighter here in the UK.
It was fairly difficult finding some ‘Time Thieves’ quotes but I got a few…
Friends are thieves of time. ~ Francis Bacon
“Procastination is the thief of time.” ~ Joseph Heller
“He was always late on principle, his principle being that punctuality is the thief of time.” ~ Oscar Wilde
Here’s something a little different for you. A spot-the-difference cartoon with a message. There’s 12 differences in the below cartoon – can you find them? (Sorry no prizes this time – but who knows, if there’s enough response maybe next time!) By the time you’ve found them all you’ll have got the message in the cartoons – which is…NEVER BE TOO BUSY AS NOT TO LISTEN! Wouldn’t this be a good idea if you wanted to get a message across in your workplace!?
Today I’ve been looking at some Thomas Edison quotes and came up with the following cartoon idea to illustrate it…
And here’s some of the other quotes that I liked and may draw up a cartoon later on down the road….
Be courageous. I have seen many depressions in business. Always America has emerged from these stronger and more prosperous. Be brave as your fathers before you. Have faith! Go forward!
Genius is one percent inspiration and ninety-nine percent perspiration.
Hell, there are no rules here – we’re trying to accomplish something.
I have not failed. I’ve just found 10,000 ways that won’t work.
I never did a day’s work in my life. It was all fun.
I feel pretty good myself – I’m just about to go and pick up my new dog. He’s a rescue one – about a year old. He’s going to keep me fit with walking him two or three times a day. At least I won’t be sat in front of the computer all day long everyday! Will let you know how I go on.

Even if you commit, difficulties will arise. Your road to success will require a lot of attention, involvement and effort. All directed towards your goal.
You can increase focus by practicing the focus on just your goals. Take a few minutes every day where you keep your goal in front of your eyes, and nothing else. Drop every other thought, just keep focusing on your goal. This won’t be easy at start, but is necessary.

When commissioning cartoons… Pick TWO of the three options!
Good+Fast = Expensive Choose this and I’ll postpone every other project on my drawing board, my round of golf or give up my footy match ticket and work day and night to get your job done. It WILL NOT BE CHEAP though!
Good+Cheap = Slow Choose good and cheap and I’ll still do a great job at a discounted price. But you’ll have to be patient while I fit you in after my higher paying clients, updating my web site, going down the gym, my footy matches, rounds of golf and liquid lunches!
Fast+Cheap = Inferior Choose this option at your peril. It will still be delivered on time but it will be inferior, as many corners as possible will be cut. You know the saying ‘You get what you pay for!’ The least favorable option in my opinion!
