I took Ryan Blair’s 100 day challenge last year from September thru the end of December – it was an outstanding goal setting and life planning program. You get a daily audio along with a transcript, I can certainly say it helped me refocus and kept me on my toes everyday.
Stuck in Time!
I hate to admit it, but I was stuck in time, I was in a comfort zone and just going along nice and steady. It changed my thinking and now I’m back climbing the next mountain!
I’m always reviewing/looking at setting goals whether small and short term or big and longer term. I came across this quote on my travels….
“Set a goal to achieve something that is so big, so exhilarating that it excites you and scares you at the same time. It must be a goal that is so appealing, so much in line with your spiritual core, that you can’t get it out of your mind. If you do not get chills when you set a goal, your not setting big enough goals.”
Psychiatrist Daniel G. Amen has named the limiting thoughts we hear in our
head ANTs – Automatic Negative Thoughts. And just like real ants at a picnic, your ANTS can ruin your experience of life. Dr.Amen recommends that you learn to STOMP the ANTs. First you have to become aware of them; next you have to shake them off and stomp them by challenging them. Finally you have to replace them with more positive and affirming thoughts!
Stomps those ANTS!
So, STOMP your ANTs before it’s too late!
Taken from a book by Jack Canfield – The Success Principles, how to get from where you are to where you want to be!
“People who work together will win, whether it be against complex football defenses, or the problems of modern society.” Vince Lombardi
The above quote sparked off this cartoon that I did for Kent Meters here in the UK years ago and recently redrew it to bring it up to date. (My job was to illustrate a 24 page brochure that would be given to all employees to help them understand the need for Total Customer Satisfaction.) You can see all the cartoons at: http://www.cartoonstudio.co.uk/Pages/kmeters1.html
Teamwork at it's best!
These are some of my favourite ‘teamwork’ quotes:
There is no “I” in “TEAMWORK”. Unknown
Teamwork is the ability to work together toward a common vision. The ability to direct individual accomplishments toward organizational objectives. It is the fuel that allows common people to attain uncommon results. Andrew Carnegie
Coming together, sharing together, working together, succeeding together. Unknown
Here’s the third in the series of A – Z of Positive Thinking. With a few COURAGE quotes…
It takes a lot of courage to release the familiar and seemingly secure, to embrace the new. But there is no real security in what is no longer meaningful. There is more security in the adventurous and exciting, for in movement there is life, and in change there is power. Alan Cohen
You gain strength, courage, and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face. You must do the thing which you think you cannot do. Eleanor Roosevelt
Courage is the discovery that you may not win, and trying when you know you can lose. Tom Krause
A while ago I posted A is for Action – then totally forgot about the others I had on file. So I’m digging them out and will be posting them over the next few days. These were from a small collections of cartoons I did for a magazine here in the UK years ago called SUCCESS TODAY , it was short lived and folded before I got to the letter ‘I’. Shame – I loved that magazine!
Here’s a few BELIEF quotes that I liked:
To accomplish great things, we must not only act, but also dream; not only plan, but also believe. Anatole France
Believe nothing just because a so-called wise person said it. Believe nothing just because a belief is generally held. Believe nothing just because it is said in ancient books. Believe nothing just because it is said to be of divine origin. Believe nothing just because someone else believes it. Believe only what you yourself test and judge to be true. [paraphrased] Buddha
“Keep your dreams alive. Understand to achieve anything requires faith and belief in yourself, vision, hard work, determination, and dedication. Remember all things are possible for those who believe.”Gail Devers
When commissioning cartoons… Pick TWO of the three options!
Good+Fast = Expensive Choose this and I’ll postpone every other project on my drawing board, my round of golf or give up my footy match ticket and work day and night to get your job done. It WILL NOT BE CHEAP though!
Good+Cheap = Slow Choose good and cheap and I’ll still do a great job at a discounted price. But you’ll have to be patient while I fit you in after my higher paying clients, updating my web site, going down the gym, my footy matches, rounds of golf and liquid lunches!
Fast+Cheap = Inferior Choose this option at your peril. It will still be delivered on time but it will be inferior, as many corners as possible will be cut. You know the saying ‘You get what you pay for!’ The least favorable option in my opinion!
