Motivational cartoon – free and in your mailbox every Friday!
Good Morning Richard,
I train college students to be Lifeguards and quality employees. Most have just gotten their freedom so it is my job to keep them focused on the goal whether that is for a day, week, of after graduation. I try to instill information that will awaken their talents in the way of kindness, joy, love, honor , integrity and keeping their word. Most of these students have never had any time management classes so that is another aspect of what I do. Of course, our ultimate goal is to have no drowning in the pool and to teach as many people as possible about teaching their children to swim at an early age. Your cartoons brings attention to some of these in a humorous way. Thank you for sharing and caring. I look forward to Fridays. Sincerely, Sondra Ramsour

Going The Extra Mile!
This cartoon was produce for my local Chamber of Commerce who had it printed up as a Thank You card for employee’s who had done well in their jobs. Nice little touch!
When the going gets tough – you can count on me to be busy on some menial task and not available!
The road to success is dotted with many tempting parking places. – Unknown.
When you come to the end of your rope, tie a knot and hang on. – Franklin D. Roosevelt.
There are two ways of meeting difficulties: you alter the difficulties, or you alter yourself to meet them. – Phyllis Bottome
Real difficulties can be overcome; it is only the imaginary ones that are unconquerable. – Theodore N. Vail
Remember when you see a man at the top of a mountain, he didn’t fall there. – Unknown.
When The Going Gets Tough, The Tough go shopping for chocolate!
To be fair – When the going gets tough you can rely on me to sort it out. I mean if the batteries are flat in the TV remote I'll pull out all the stops to fix THAT!
REASON # 9 – You worry more about job security,
than how happy you are.
Job security is all in your mind.
How do you know that the company you work for will be around
in a year’s time, let alone ten year’s time? If you dread
waking up on a Monday morning…
– Find a different job, or
– Find a way to supplement your income so that you can leave
and do what you would really love to do.
I went against my wife and family and quit my job, despite
having no savings. I quit to do this. It’s what I want to do
with my life. Period.
Two years ago, I was counting the years to I retired at 60
with a full two-thirds pension. So what changed?
I changed…because the world won’t.
I decided that I couldn’t be unhappy for 40+ hours a week
…I decided that I wanted to see my family grow up…I
decided that I wanted to help my wife more with our
disabled son.
I decided to do what I wanted to do…and not what society
expects me to do. That’s why I wrote my eBook – “The Science of Success”
I had a good career…with a decent salary. But I realised
that we are here to enjoy life…and not to struggle with
life. I have seen enough miserable people who work 70+
hours a week and have a fantastic salary…yet their kids
hardly know them.
It’s your life…and you only get one shot at it.
So you might as well enjoy it!
I hope that this part of the report has shown you
that there are more ways to be a success, other than what
can be measured in monetary terms.
I came across this great quote from the late Steve Jobs – which got me thinking.
Would I still draw cartoons on my last day? The answer is a BIG YES! I’m passionate about cartooning. There are a few other things I would do but drawing some cartoons would be right up there!
REASON # 2 – You can never imagine yourself as a success.
Successful people always have a vision of where they want to
be in the future.
Can you imagine yourself living the life of luxury in Monte
Carlo or on a yacht in the Caribbean?
Didn’t think you could.
Most people (apart from the successful ones) have a vision
of under-achievement. They never believe that they could
possibly be millionaires, or live a life like a famous role
model.
I call this “Oh Well” thinking. You always hear yourself say
“Oh Well…it will never happen for me” or “Oh Well…she’s
luckier than me anyway”.
Think like a winner…and you will become a winner.
Look at the example of one of the greatest boxers of all
time – Muhammad Ali. You probably remember his catchphrase.
The thing was…he even said it when he was starting out and
was plain old Cassius Clay…
When commissioning cartoons… Pick TWO of the three options!
Good+Fast = Expensive Choose this and I’ll postpone every other project on my drawing board, my round of golf or give up my footy match ticket and work day and night to get your job done. It WILL NOT BE CHEAP though!
Good+Cheap = Slow Choose good and cheap and I’ll still do a great job at a discounted price. But you’ll have to be patient while I fit you in after my higher paying clients, updating my web site, going down the gym, my footy matches, rounds of golf and liquid lunches!
Fast+Cheap = Inferior Choose this option at your peril. It will still be delivered on time but it will be inferior, as many corners as possible will be cut. You know the saying ‘You get what you pay for!’ The least favorable option in my opinion!
