Today I'm looking at the subject of laughter/laughing.
Here's a few quotes and this week's cartoon:
I am thankful for laughter, except when milk comes out of
my nose. ~ Woody Allen
Even if there is nothing to laugh about, laugh on credit.

A good laugh and a long sleep are the best cures in the doctor's
book. ~Irish Proverb
A good, real, unrestrained, hearty laugh is a sort of glorified internal massage, performed rapidly and automatically. It manipulates and revitalizes corners and unexplored crannies of the system that are unresponsive to most other exercise methods. ~ Author unknown
Laughter it makes us feel real good – have a good laugh tonight!
A smile costs nothing but gives much. It enriches those who receive without making poorer those who give. It takes but a moment, but the memory of it sometimes lasts forever. None is so rich or mighty that he cannot get along without it and none is so poor that he cannot be made rich by it. Yet a smile cannot be bought, begged, borrowed, or stolen, for it is something that is of no value to anyone until it is given away. Some people are too tired to give you a smile. Give them one of yours, as none needs a smile so much as he who has no more to give.

Carry laughter with you wherever you go.- Hugh Sidey
I like this quote about having a million dollars…Having lips and not using them to smile, is like having a million dollars in the bank and forgetting the account number.
We live in an age of immediate gratification. What we want – we want now. And just the way we ordered it. No delays. No substitutions. No excuses.
Sadly, many view new tasks and the accomplishment of most goals that way.
We want overnight growth, instant mastery, and flawless performance on the first try.
But that’s not the way success works. Patience and perseverance are at the core of what it means to be truly successful.
Pace is irrelevant to perseverance. It does not matter how slowly you go so long as you do not stop.
What would happen if I were to follow you with a camera crew for 24
hours a day, 7 days a week for the next 100 days while you went for
for your goals?
I bet 3 things would happen….
1) You would START doing the things you say you need to do.
2) You would STOP doing the things you know you shouldn’t be doing.
3) You would MAKE monumental performance gains and change your life.
How this possible?
Through the power of accountability!
Accountability serves to protect your character, credibility and
reputation. Just as important, it will get you to accomplish all
of your goals.
It should come as no surprise that the thing that stops most people
from accomplishing their goals is their lack of accountability.
Which begs the question; ‘How can someone that wants accountability
get it, without paying thousands of dollars for a coach?”
Good question. Here is your answer:
Gary Ryan Blair, otherwise known as The Goals Guy has put together
what I believe to be the most comprehensive form of accountability,
goal setting and performance enhancement, that I have ever seen.
It’s called the 100 Day Challenge and it begins on September 20th,
which happens to begin the final 100 day countdown of the year.
I’ve seen it, and it’s an amazing piece of work. I worked on the
cartoons he used to promote it! But you don't have
to take my word for it, check it out for yourself:
When commissioning cartoons… Pick TWO of the three options!
Good+Fast = Expensive Choose this and I’ll postpone every other project on my drawing board, my round of golf or give up my footy match ticket and work day and night to get your job done. It WILL NOT BE CHEAP though!
Good+Cheap = Slow Choose good and cheap and I’ll still do a great job at a discounted price. But you’ll have to be patient while I fit you in after my higher paying clients, updating my web site, going down the gym, my footy matches, rounds of golf and liquid lunches!
Fast+Cheap = Inferior Choose this option at your peril. It will still be delivered on time but it will be inferior, as many corners as possible will be cut. You know the saying ‘You get what you pay for!’ The least favorable option in my opinion!
