Here’s a cartoon I’ve just dug out of my archives – I drew it for a friend who’s young son had made it into the top ten UK tennis players under 12’s. But still needed something to lift him up the rankings…
I anticipate my opponents every move…
I anticipate the ball with clarity…
I anticipate my opponents every
manoeuvre…it’s easy for me…My focus and vision
of the ball is superb…I play each point as it
comes – I’m a point accumulator…I play each
point to win…I am a winner…I am a winnnnnnner!!!
My cat like reflexes put me in positions to hit
outstanding winners…I trust my instincts…I am a
very successful tennis player…I’m very confident…I
project a body language of confidence…What an
exciting player I am…I have a bounce in
my step -that springs me to my destination…
I move around the court with ease and
assurance…I’ve got the POWER in my legs
to reach any part of the court in lightening
fast speed…I pressurise my opponents into
mistakes…I pile on the pressure until
they subside and give up!
Are YOU taking it easy on The Path of Least Resistance!?
The path of least resistance is used to describe certain human behaviors, where you’re inclined to take the easier route, you avoid obstacles at all costs and you by-pass troublesome work even if it means success. A person taking the path of least resistance avoids anything like hard work.
The path of least resistance is the path of the loser. ~ H. G. Wells(Take note Sid Gatt!)
If you are looking for something to complain about, you are absolutely certain to find it. It requires some effort to achieve a happy outlook on life, and most people don’t make it. Most people take the path of least resistance. Far too many people today don’t make the steps to make their life more fulfilling one.~ Gregg Easterbrook
Hints and tips on becoming more like Captain Positive…
1. Train yourself to notice when you are happy and try to collect five happy moments every single day.
2. Get active – physical activity releases happy chemicals in our brains.
3. Sign up as a volunteer research shows that helping others gives us a sense of wellbeing.
4. Keep in contact with your mates – scientists report that individuals with a good social network are more likely to be positive people.
5. Write a letter of thanks to someone who has helped you or had a great influence on you. This will increase your positive and contented feelings.
6. Eat healthily, drink plenty of water and get sufficient sleep. It’s hard to feel positive if you aren’t treating your body with care and respect. Written by Christine Webber (My apologies to Christine – I lost your URL.)
Let me know what you think to Captain Positive – is he a cartoon character you would like to see more of?
I was wrestling with a problem back in 1999 – when I first created my motivational cartoons I couldn’t make my mind up as what yo call them. I drew up about 20 under the label ‘Manic Motivators’. I wasn’t sure about the name so eventually I shelved it.
Let me know what you think – maybe I’ll resurrect it!? What to you reckon to the graphic at the top?
Going the extra mile – There are no traffic jams in the second mile.
“Four short words sum up what has lifted most successful individuals above the crowd; a little bit more. They did all that was expected of them and a little bit more.” A. Lou Vickery
Going The Extra Mile!
The above is a cartoon on my Cartoon Motivators site, someone saw this and then commissioned a redraw of the cartoon for one of their advertisements…
Going The Extra Mile advertisement
I’m happy going the extra mile with you on your ideas, marketing and advertising!
No one ever attains very eminent success by simply doing what is required of him; it is the amount and excellence of what is over and above the required that determines the greatness of ultimate distinction.
Charles Francis Adams
One of the most important principles of success is developing the habit of going the extra mile. ~ Napoleon Hill
When commissioning cartoons… Pick TWO of the three options!
Good+Fast = Expensive Choose this and I’ll postpone every other project on my drawing board, my round of golf or give up my footy match ticket and work day and night to get your job done. It WILL NOT BE CHEAP though!
Good+Cheap = Slow Choose good and cheap and I’ll still do a great job at a discounted price. But you’ll have to be patient while I fit you in after my higher paying clients, updating my web site, going down the gym, my footy matches, rounds of golf and liquid lunches!
Fast+Cheap = Inferior Choose this option at your peril. It will still be delivered on time but it will be inferior, as many corners as possible will be cut. You know the saying ‘You get what you pay for!’ The least favorable option in my opinion!
