THOUGHTS ABOUT HUMOUR

I liked this article by Mike quite a few years ago and thought it needed

airing again….

THOUGHTS ABOUT HUMOUR
by Mike Moore

1. It is impossible to worry while you're laughing.

2. Humour cuts stress levels in half.

3. Laughing helps you to stay happy and healthy and helps you return to good health when ill.

4. Laughter increases, by 20%, the activity of killer cells within the body which serve to destroy viruses and tumour cells.

5. Train yourself to look for the comedy in your chaos.

6. A sense of humour is the number one survival skill.

7. George Bernard Shaw once said, "When you rind something funny search it for hidden truth."

8. "The art of medicine consists of amusing the patient while nature cures the disease." Voltaire

9. Humour helps us cope, conquer, and carry on.

10. A good laugh is not only the result of humour, it is often also the cause.

11. The body heals with play; the mind heals with laughter and the spirit heals with joy.

12. The best exercise is jumping for joy.

Motivational cartoon to illustrate ‘Finish Strongly’!

Hi,

I came across this very interesting piece from Elle at http://www.motivateme.info

which inspired this cartoon…

MotivateMe!
Today’s daily dose: Finish Strong
—————————
The winners are those people who finish strongly. The ones who win on the athletics track are the ones who train for beyond the winning line. They don’t see the winning line and say – hey it’s just there I can ease up now, I’ll stop doing all I can and just coast a little – I deserve it…after all I’ve been leading this race from the beginning. Or if they do, they are beaten by the people who are prepared to go beyond the winning line before they consider stopping.

Train for beyond the winning line!

Train for beyond the winning line!

Take any of the team sports. The players don’t just train so they can play for the exact length of time they have to play their games. What would happen if they went into extra time and had nothing left in the tank…who is the team going to win if that is the case? You got it…the team of people who had trained so they could run the extra few minutes to clinch the game.

In your business ventures – do you go that extra distance? Do you put in the time you need to ensure you are a success or are you prone to coasting at the crucial moments?

How about your personal fitness goals. Do you do all that you can? Or are you tempted to coast a little on the distance, the weights and the intensity of the workouts. Who are you cheating? Yes – you are cheating yourself by not doing all that you can.

Go that little bit further today. Stretch yourself and finish strong.

With many thoughts
Elle

The Ten Step Blueprint Of Successful People!

I came across an interesting entry on Gary Vurnum’s blog which I just had to share….

(Gary’s site can be found at…http://www.oursuccesspartnership.com)

A professor at the University of Wales grilled ten top athletes in order to come up with a definition of mental toughness.

By pinning this down so precisely…he also produced a blueprint for the elite businessman or woman.

Here it is…

1) You have to have unshakeable self-belief.
2) You bounce back from setbacks with increased determination to succeed.
3) You know that you are better than your opponents.
4) Your desire for success is overpowering.
5) You are fully focused on the task in hand.

6) You regain psychological control after unexpected events.
7) You ignore others’ performances and focus on your own.
8) You thrive on the pressure of competition.
9) You can block out personal problems.
10) You can switch your professional focus on and off.

Now…I don’t know about you..but isn’t this a fantastic blueprint (with a few changes in wording, of courses) for living an ‘elite’ life?

It certainly got me looking at how I deal with things both in a business and personal sense.

What about you?

The Law of Attraction and the Science of Getting Rich – By Richard Duszczak

What are you thinking about right now? The Law of Attraction states that “whatever we think about, we bring about”. This law may initially seem like new age fluff but believe it or not, there are scientific merits to this proposition. The top quantum physicists of our time have discovered that our universe and our reality is very much directed by the “observer”.

When studying quantum particles (the smallest observable unit of matter), these scientists discovered that such particles behave in accordance with the person conducting the experiment. It the scientists “predict” that quantum particles behave in a certain way, they do. And yet, if the scientists “predict” that quantum particles behave in another way, they do. It is the “observer” that dictates the outcome of the experiment!

What does all this mean for us normal people? Well actually, these scientific experiments has far reaching implications for us as our world is made up of these same quantum particles! In this case, we are the “observer” the director and hence the creator of our reality, our world and our experience.

So, be careful of what you think about! for example, have you thoughts ever begun with the following phrases:

I don’t understand…

I don’t want…

I’m frustrated that…

I hate my…

I can’t figure out …

I’m stressed about…

I’m worried that…

I should be able to… but I can’t…

Why am I having so much trouble?

The Law of Attraction indifferent to the words preceding your thought. Whatever you think about you will attract into your life. When you think “I don’t understand why bad things always happen to me?”, you are “attracting” bad things into your life. When you think “I want to get out of debt”, you are attracting more debt into your life. When you think “I’m worried I will get sick”, you are attracting sickness into your life! The Law of Attraction brings about what you focus on even if it is not what you want. Get it?

If you understand this principle, here are some examples of how to make the law of attraction work to support you rather than to act against you. Try observing your thoughts and changing your thinking in the following way:

“I want to get out of debt” to “I want to earn amazing riches”

“I hate my boss” to “I look forward to owning my own business”

“I don’t understand why he is so lazy” to “I love it when he helps out around the house”

“I’m stressed about this project” to “I always create amazing results in my projects”

“I’m worried about getting sick” to “I experience vibrant health daily”

Now that we have a better understanding of the Law of Attraction, it is no surprise why so many people struggle with regards to money. It is been said that “the rich get richer while the poor get poorer”. This is actually the Law of Attraction in action. Because the wealthy have money, they often think about how to best use their money and hence they attract more money. The poor on the other hand often think about their present lack of money and unfortunately, that also attracts lack into their lives. Currently, 96% of the world’s wealth is being earned by just 1% of the population!

I'm Rich I'm Rich!

I'm Rich I'm Rich!

To address this issue, the main teachers behind the movie is launching a program is called “The Science of Getting Rich” and it is based on employing the law of attraction to create wealth. This amazing program is based on the principles and philosophies outlined in a book of the same title written in 1910 by Wallace D Wattles. This is the same book that inspired the movie.

What is the Science of Getting Rich about? Well in the words of Wallace D. Wattles, “The ownership of money and property comes as a result of doing things in a certain way. Those who do things in this certain way, whether on purpose or accidentally, get rich. Those who do not do things in this certain way, no matter how hard they work or how able they are, remain poor. It is a natural law that like causes always produce like effects. Therefore, any man or woman who learns to do things in this certain way will infallibly get rich.” The Science of Getting Rich Seminar is all about teaching how to do things in this “certain” way to create wealth.

6 RULES FOR BEATING WORRY!

6 RULES FOR BEATING WORRY by David J. Schwartz, Ph.D from
The Power Of Psychic Power.

Worry germs will die if you’ll apply these six disinfectants

1. Keep busy. Mental idleness is the seed bed of fear,
frustration, and anxiety. At the first sign of worry, get busy
doing something.

2. Fight perfectionism. Stop looking for the one best
way. Remember, if you wait until you’re perfect, you’ll be
dead before you get started!

You don't have to get it right - you just have to get it going!

You don't have to get it right - you just have to get it going!

3. Take action. Action kills worry. Plunge in. Do
something about the thing that worries you. Stop debat-
ing, start doing.

4. Look ahead. What’s done is done. Stop trying to
improve hindsight. Sharpen up your foresight instead.

5. Love the unexpected. Look forward to the unknown.
Be glad life is filled with surprises. It is nature’s
way of preventing boredom.

6. Sit down and count your blessings. You’ve got
more than you think!

Face The Music and WIN!

While looking for some cartoons on my hard drive about ‘Fear’ I came across one I did for a book titled Face The Music and Win which I illustrated for Tracy Plaice. I’d forgotten about this project (It’s an age thing – so they keep telling me, but I’m not listening!)

Here’s an extract and cartoon from the first chapter…

My favourite time to play was when I had the house completely to myself as that was the only time that I felt completely at ease and didn’t make any mistakes. The piano was like my best friend; I shared with it all my emotions and in return it taught me that I could achieve things that seemed impossible at first glance. I still recall how difficult it was to play with both hands together, but with them doing completely different things.

Playing for other people, especially at piano exams was a real drama. I even found it a bit of a challenge in front of my piano teacher. At home I could play perfectly when no one could hear me, but in front of anyone else, especially an examiner, I would invariably make a mess, freeze, or lose my place in the music – all three sometimes. It didn’t get any easier, no matter how hard I tried.
There were times at home when I would practise on the piano and Dad would sit, pretending to read the newspaper. I knew he was really listening to me play. He knew that was the only thing he could do if he wanted any chance of hearing me play. It’s not that I was being selfish by not wanting to perform for people, I just couldn’t do it.
I wasn’t a shy child in other areas of my life. In fact I would quite often find myself in trouble for opening my mouth before my mind had considered the consequences, especially around my teachers and my father. I was made to sit alone at school on several occasions because I wanted to talk rather than read books.
I think the reason why I was so fearful when it came to playing the piano for others, was because it was so important to me. I would practise every day after school. I had really high expectations, both of myself and of what I thought other people would expect of me, given all the practice that I did. Also, and perhaps more importantly, I didn’t really appreciate that I was any good at it. I would always compare myself unfavourably to Mrs Hind’s other pupil, Alan.

Here’s a few quotes about FEAR….

Only when we are no longer afraid do we begin to live. Dorothy Thompson

You gain strength, courage, and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face. You must do the thing which you think you cannot do. Eleanor Roosevelt

“The greatest barrier to success is the fear of failure.” Sven Goran Eriksson
